Mission Statement

The PA RCRJ's mission is to:

  • Educate people of faith about threats to the availability of reproductive health care in Pennsylvania.
  • Collaborate with and support religious and secular organizations working within the Commonwealth for the cause of reproductive justice.
  • Advocate for reproductive justice at the national, state, and local levels.
  • Serve those in need of reproductive health services.

In support of our mission, we:

Provide timely and accurate information about proposed legislation affecting a person’s ability to make decisions about her/his/their health.

Develop strategic partnerships with activists working for reproductive justice in the Commonwealth, such as Pennsylvanians for Choice and Planned Parenthood, to offer a faith- based voice to their work.

Provide educational and advocacy materials to people of faith to enhance their exchange with decision-makers to achieve the goal of reproductive justice for all.

Actions of PA RCRJ include:

Building support by opening PA RCRJ to any person of faith, laity or clergy, who wants to join in the mission of reproductive justice for all.

Seeking partnerships to learn from community groups, service providers, and advocacy networks. In turn, we offer our support as people of faith by volunteering for and or serving in these organizations.

Taking an active role in information sharing and education by serving as an educational resource to faith communities throughout Pennsylvania.

Advocating for reproductive justice by responding to legislation in a timely manner with legislative visits, letters to the editor, and informing our membership by 'action alerts’

Seeking to engage other people of faith in a dialogue about our belief in reproductive justice, by actively listening and responding to them.

Speaking out against racism, gender bias,  anti-LGBTQ+ oppression (homophobia), and all categorical discrimination.
